The second weekend of the 2018 State League season has added more twists and turns as the teams settle into the season.
The ladders in both men’s and women’s have been shuffled as teams settle in to the tournament. It’s been an entertaining start to the weekend with another 200 runs scored across the 13 games.
Week 3 will be back at Blacktown International Sportspark on Sunday September 2.

Women’s
Week two of the women’s State League competition has seen the sides start to spread out across the ladder.
The Manly Eagles have continued its perfect start to the season with 9-0 win over Panthers and 7-0 win over Sharks. A pair of wins also helped the Northern Storm move up to second while the Panthers bounced back from a loss in its first game of the day to claim a 23-3 win over Hills.
Hills went oh so close to claiming its first win of the season against the Northern Storm before falling 9-8 in the first game of the day. The Sharks were unable to score a run over the weekend to drop from second to fourth.

Men’s
Week two has been a huge for teams moving around the ladder.
The defending champions Dolphins have continued its perfect start to the State League season with a pair of big wins over the weekend.
After finishing week one in fourth, Thurabredz – Tahi have risen to second while Mounties moved up from fifth to third and Tropics have flown into the top four. Tropics had two losses last week and bounced back with a 6-5 win over Mounties and a crushing 20-4 win over Demons.
Titans dropped to fifth and United to sixth but both had difficult assignments against the Dolphins and Thurabredz – Tahi. Demons claimed its first win of the season with a 16-9 win over Thurabredz – Rua but fell to sixth after conceding 29 runs. However, the gap between third and seventh is just one point.
Thurabredz – Rua will be chasing its first win of the competition next weekend.
