An exciting weekend of Softball saw Penrith City take out a double in winning the Boys and Girls U15 State Championship at Manly.
The Penrith City Boys dominated the U15 Boys competition going through undefeated and scoring an amazing 91 runs for and only against all weekend. In the final it was the Penrith City hitters who shone piling on 10 runs against a strong Macarthur Pitching line up, this was backed up by an outstanding pitching performance. This was Penrith City’s 4th title in 4 years in this age division with a total of 6 titles after winning in 1999 and 2010 as well.
The girls final was an exciting game with teams locked up at one all until Penrith City scored 3 runs to go ahead but defending champions Manly Warringah were not going down without a fight pegging back one run before Penrith City scored another to win 5 – 2. It is only the 2nd title in the age division for Penrith City.
