Softball NSW State Team & Under 14 Regional Team’s Selection Process Update

Softball NSW State Team & Under 14 Regional Team’s Selection Process Update

The significant impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the 2020 Softball NSW (SNSW) Representative Season cannot be understated, with the cancellation of numerous Leagues, Camps and activities that would usually underpin the SNSW Selection process has forced SNSW to enforce changes to its own Selection Policy.

Furthermore, the recent adjustment advised by Softball Australia in relation to the length and location of the 2021 National Championships has further impacted initial planning. Their release of this information can be viewed here

Due to these various impacts and associated timelines the SNSW Board has temporarily adjusted the SNSW Selection Policy to ensure that it provides the most opportune and equitable process for the perspective athletes to obtain State/Regional representation.

With the Softball NSW representative season on the horizon, SNSW can advise that the SNSW Selection Policy will be utilised and adjusted for the following categories in the following ways temporarily;

  • Athletes that are unable to attend the State Championships due to injury will need to submit an exemption request and medical report to ceo@softballnsw.org.au Failure to provide both of these requirements will render athletes ineligible.
  • Athletes that complete the SNSW Pathways EOI and do not participate at the SNSW State Championships will be rendered ineligible for selection.
