The Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS) presents the inaugural National Primary Games (NPG) in Tamworth NSW with the support of Macquarie Bank.
The National Primary Games is a festival of sport for 11 and 12 Year Olds (Yr 5 and 6) from across the country competing over two days in a carnival atmosphere hosted by the City of Tamworth. The NPG embraces inclusivity, enjoyment, friendship in sport and sportsmanship as its core values all of which are celebrated through the Spirit of the Olympics.
The NPG is supported by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) who will be providing high profile athletes as special guests in support of this festival of sport, along with other high profile performers to entertain the children and their families at a special function on the Saturday night.
It includes 15 sports and welcomes both boys and girls and their families. Students will compete against teams from across the Eastern seaboard of Australia and from far flung regions of the inland with sportsmanship and friendship being the focus of the weekend culminating in the Spirit of the Games Award being presented to a team who represents this attitude within each of the sports.
