North Shore led by Aussie Spirit Dynamo Rachel Lack have claimed the Women’s Open State Championship title after a tough contest against Manly Warringah at Blacktown International Sports Park.
North Shore finished the regular rounds in second place behind Manly Warringah in their Pool. The crossover saw North Shore having to fight their way past Cumberland Nepean then Penrith before facing off against Pool Winners Manly Warringah.
Manly Warringah were aiming for a potential fourth straight Women’s State Championship after being undefeated heading into the Grand Final. However, Shore exploded early to get a 4 run lead after some exceptional hitting at the top of the 1st. Manly being the excellent team they are crawled their way back into the contest to be down by 1 run heading into the 7th.
Shore leading the 7th away, were able to secure another 2 runs and take their lead out to three. At 6-3, Manly dug deep and were able to grab another run before some acrobatic out-fielding saw Shore claim their first title since 2015.
