Open Women’s State Championship – Day 1 wrap

Open Women’s State Championship – Day 1 wrap

The 2019 Open Women’s State Championship Day 2 turned into day 1 after the heavy rain on Saturday made the diamonds unplayable. A redraw was completed with 2 pools now in play and play got underway at 9:00am in heavy conditions.

Michelle Cox, Taylah Tsitsikronis and Rachel Lack fresh from the Olympic Qualifiers in China all showed their experience and played key roles for their respective teams.

Manly Warringah and Penrith City remained undefeated to top their pools and place themselves one win away from a Grand Final berth.

Monday starts with 2 exciting games. On diamond 1 Sutherland will take on Cumberland Nepean whilst over on diamond 2 North Shore will come up against Hornsby. The losers of these games drop out of contention for the 2019 title.
