Return to Community Sport: Updated Government Advice
Published Wed 20 Oct 2021
Softball NSW provides the following updates for the return of community sport, which will now supersede advice previously provided on Monday 18th October.
Most notably within these changes for Community Sport, there are two core updates.
• Gatherings: Venue Capacity limits lifted from 200 to 1000 persons or 1 person per 2 square metres, whichever is the lesser.
• Safety Plans: The development and implementation of a COVID-19 Safety Plan for Outdoor Community Sport (yet to be released as of 8.30 am)
As a community, we understand the benefits of these updates and how it will assist our Associations, Clubs to deliver positive yet safe experiences. Acknowledging this, we do share the levels of frustration with the significant efforts made by our Associations and Clubs following advice provided on October 18, which now will change.
The continuation of updating our community with government advice will remain fluid and we should all expect continuous changes throughout these very challenging times.
