NSW Under 16 & 14 Girls Meet Olympians

Published Mon 04 Apr 2022

It was a Sunday to remember for the NSW Under 16 and Under 14 Girls' teams. Ahead of their National Championships, our very own Olympians Michelle Cox, Stacey McManus and Taylah Tsitsikronis caught up with them at Barker College for a fun and engaging interactive session about all things softball.

Having played the game right from the club level to the Olympics, the Aussie Spirit athletes attended the event with bagfuls of incredible stories from their careers as well as their own Olympic gear to show everyone present that afternoon.

The young athletes had plenty of compelling questions to ask them across a broad range of topics including their individual experiences playing in Japan, tips and tricks to stay motivated while playing, as well as their overall journey of playing the sport over the years. Apart from drawing a great deal of inspiration from listening to their stories of playing on the biggest stage in Japan, it was clear that the Under 16 and 14 team members present found it insightful to draw parallels between their own individual careers and that of the three superstars.

That was not all - all the girls who asked questions were gifted a special pin by Michelle, Stacey and Taylah to take home, followed by photographs and autographs. Softball NSW would like to sincerely thank Michelle, Stacey and Taylah for taking time out to interact with these young athletes and motivating them greatly ahead of the 2022 National Championships.
