NSW Under 14 Girls Train with Australian Powerlifting Champion
Published Mon 21 Mar 2022
All three NSW Under 14 Girls teams have been busy training at CSP Seven Hills with Najat Khoury, an Australian powerlifting champion.
Najat, who won her first title within just 8 months of starting out in the sport, has successfully represented the nation at the IPF World Championships with a regular top-6 finish. She competes in the Strongman competitions and has also played the NFL to further test her levels of strength and tenacity.
Currently working in People & Culture at the New South Wales Institute of Sport, Najat focuses on encouraging and supporting women from diverse backgrounds, motivating them to engage in sport, health and education. She is also an accredited coach and S&C practitioner.
Having had to overcome injury in the past, Najat knows what it's like as an athlete to look into the future and make a transition to a new sport to continue competing. Softball NSW is both excited and proud to have our Girls' teams train with someone like her who continues to inspire girls to be the best they can be.
