Doug Freeman announced as Softball NSW President

Published Fri 28 Feb 2025

Softball NSW (SNSW) would like to advise our members that Paige Hyslop has chosen to step down as President of SNSW due to impending birth of her first child. Paige will continue to serve the Softball NSW community as Board Member. The outgoing President said, “I have a lot happening personally at present and I have decided this is the best decision for my family and for SNSW. As a junior playing softball and representing NSW, I never thought I would have the opportunity to lead Softball NSW and it has been an honour to be President over the last two years where we have met challenges head on, and delivered great outcomes. I am committed to working with my fellow SNSW Board members to continue to grow and improve our sport”.

At the recent SNSW Board meeting, the Directors nominated and elected Doug Freeman as the new President unopposed with Craig Oberg continuing as Vice President. Doug brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his professional career at Tabcorp and Softball experience as President of Manly Warringah Softball Association and being a current SNSW Board member for the last 6 years.

Doug said, “it is a privilege to be nominated and elected by my fellow SNSW Board members to lead SNSW. I would like to thank Paige for her commitment and efforts leading SNSW over the last two years. We have a lot still to achieve at SNSW and my focus is on growing participation at an Association and Club level. I look forward to working with Stuart and the SNSW team in making this a reality”.
