Community Advice - Public Health Order Update

Softball NSW can now advise that the NSW Government have updated the Public Health (COVID-19 General) Amendment Order (No 8) 2021 and this outlines the changes to the rules which will come into effect from Monday 8 November 2021.

Softball NSW provides this advice which applies to fully vaccinated adults, children under 16 years of age, and people with an approved medical contraindication certificate. Those who are not fully vaccinated must still abide by pre-roadmap restrictions until the State reaches the 95 per cent double vaccination target, or 15 December, whichever happens first.

Public Health Order Update Outdoor Gatherings (including Community Sport)

Softball NSW provides the following extracts from the updated Public Health Order which comes into effect as of the 8 th of November 2021.

Clause 2.12 has been amended to permit the following:

  • An outdoor public gathering of up to 1,000 people, provided there is space to accommodate 1 person per 2 square metres.

- An outdoor public gathering does not require a COVID-19 Safety Plan and the associated requirements. -

- As noted above, only fully vaccinated adults, children under 16 years of age, and people with an approved medical contraindication certificate are permitted to attend.

  • A COVID-19 safe outdoor public gathering, with a maximum capacity of 1 person per 2 square metres.

- A COVID-19 safe outdoor public gathering required the organiser to have and implement an Outdoor events COVID-19 Safety Plan.

- There is no upper limit to capacity beyond the 1 person per 2 square metres.

- As noted above, only fully vaccinated adults, children under 16 years of age, and people with an approved medical contraindication certificate are permitted to attend.

Face Masks

The current settings for masks, which apply to everyone, will remain in place until the State reaches the 95 percent double vaccination target, or 15 December, whichever happens first.

Community Competitions & State Championships Advice

As stated continuously throughout this pandemic, Softball NSW will be aligned with the NSW Government Roadmaps and health advice. As such we can now advise that only fully vaccinated adults, children under 16 years of age, and people with an approved medical contraindication certificate may attend or participate in our Association/Club Trainings, Competitions or State Championships. These rules will apply until the State reaches the 95 per cent double vaccination target, or 15 December, whichever happens first.

At all facilities of Softball meetings, competitions and training, individuals aged 16 years and above will need to Check In via the Service NSW App and present proof of vaccination prior to entering. The proof of vaccination is again aligned with the NSW Government requirements and listed below.

Check In & Proof of Vaccination

Softball NSW, Associations and Clubs are required to continue to take reasonable steps to ensure people can check-in or provide their contact details to when they enter Softball facilities.

Individuals entering Softball facilities must:

  • check in with the Service NSW app
  • provide your details to the occupier of the premises.

Vaccination evidence includes:

  • an online immunisation history statement
  • a COVID-19 digital certificate from the Australian Immunisation Register
  • presenting your COVID-19 digital certificate via the Service NSW app
  • an email or other document (printed or electronic) from the Department of Home Affairs that confirms you have completed an Australia Travel Declaration and you have been vaccinated against COVID-19 overseas
  • a medical exemption, which includes either:
    - a medical contraindication certificate or
    - a medical clearance form.

A person who is required to be fully vaccinated to enter our facilities must:

  • Carry their vaccination evidence
  • Produce the evidence if requested to do so by a police officer or authorised officer.
