Our U16 Boys are up next to bat this week, playing for the Arthur Allsopp Shield. This year the team has been refreshed with some new faces but also has a bit of experience in their midst. Head Coach Dale Smith will be hoping his boys will be stepping up to the plate knowing what they are in for this year.
Our boys were runners up last year, almost going undefeated the entire tournament but just couldn’t make it over the last hurdle. The boys have said they had victory so close they could taste it and wouldn’t let another opportunity slip up again.
Now travelling over to Perth, its going to be a tournament of sunshine and heat on the west coast. The boys are certainly pumped and ready for what should be an exciting competition.
The players had some words of inspiration for their team ahead of an intense competition:
Jack Mathews
“Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard”
Tyler Ingold
“Winners never quit and quitters never win”
Aiden McSavaney
“Pressure makes diamonds”
Bowan Williams
“As we head into the Nationals, the energy in the team is electric. Everyone’s been putting in the work, and we’re all determined to give it our best. It’s about pushing past limits, supporting each other, and representing our Waratah with pride.”
Rory Taylor
“Feelings mixed with excitement and confidence heading into nationals. We’ve put in the hard work, and we’re ready to give it everything we’ve got. The team is focused, hungry for the win, and determined to bring our best to every game. We can’t wait to step onto the field and show the amazing team we are.”
