SLAMMERS AND STRIKERS FOR THE WIN!

The 2021 SNSW Under 14 Tri Series came to a close this afternoon after three action-packed days of Softball.

After the success of the Fully Loaded Tournament on Wednesday, our teams came into Thursday ready to switch back to a fastpitch focus. It was a long day of round games, but our players and officials were up to the challenge.

Six games later, the Metro Slammers Girls and Boys teams were sitting in first position on their respective ladders, securing an early Grand Final spot, with both Semi Finals to be battled out between the Metro Strikers and Country Sliders. On Friday morning, ultimately the Strikers would come out on top in both games, and we were set for a Fastpitch Tournament Finals matchup that was oddly similar to Wednesday.

Our first Grand Final of the day was the Boys, and the scores were tied for much of the game. But some solid batting performances by the Slammers pushed them into the lead in the fourth innings, and the Strikers couldn’t catch up, going down 7 runs to 4. Then it was time for the Girls, and the Metro Slammers were looking for a four-peat for the Tri Series. But it wasn’t to be their day. The Strikers came out firing with the bat right from the first innings, racking up a solid lead that simply couldn’t be caught. Adding to that an incredibly tight defensive field, the Strikers threw a shut-out game to take the Championship 6 runs to 0.

Congratulations to all of the teams and officials for such a successful Tri Series Tournament! And we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming 2021 State Championship events.
