The 2020 Under 14 State Championships saw the crowds return in big numbers following the recent lifting of restrictions by the NSW Government.
The crowds were big, as were the performances of many athletes in vying for selection for the Under 14 Regional Program.
The championships were proudly hosted by Southern Districts Softball Association at their fantastic Jacqui Osmond Softball Park complex.
Macarthur power past Cumberland Nepean in clinical 9-1 victory.
The 2 best teams in the boy’s division met once more in the grand final. Cumberland, wanting to avenge their only lost this weekend, came out firing in the first inning, putting runners on base and putting some early pressure on Macarthur.
Big games call for big moments and Carter Shears didn’t disappoint. He would slow the roll from CNSA and start to assert his dominance on the mound. He would also lead the way with the bat as he would put one over the fence, starting a flurry of runs which would eventually result in a dominant win by the boys in red and blue.
Full Result: Macarthur 9 def Cumberland Nepean 1
Umpires: Duncan Lapsley (Plate), Jennie McKenny (First Base) & John Greenhalgh (Third Base)

A change of Pitcher for Macarthur with Ellie Hurst coming in held North Shore down over the next innings and Macarthur were able to score and get on the board with the score moving to 7-1 North Shore. North Shore then struck back with two runs and move the score out to 9-1
North Shore then continued to bat well and run hard through bases and took a commanding 14-1 lead. Macarthur did not give up fighting and scored two runs, although it was not enough to catch a very determined North Shore team.
