Hornsby U19 Women’s Champions

Hornsby U19 Women’s Champions

The weather was kind to the U19 Women on the weekend allowing the 2016 U19 State Championship to eventually be played and completed.

7 teams entered the championship Cumberland Nepean, Hornsby, Macarthur, Manly Warringah, North Shore, Penrith City, Sutherland.

It was evident after day 1 that the teams to beat were Manly Warringah, Macarthur, Sutherland and Hornsby and it came down to the last game of the rounds to decide who would play 1st placed Hornsby in the final with Cumberland Nepean upsetting Manly Warringah 2 – 1 to make a path for Sutherland to move through.

The final was a very close and exciting game with some great plays and some strong hitting. Hornsby led 5-3 late in the game before Kandra Lamb hit a 3 run homerun to seal Hornsby’s 3rd title at the U19 Women.
