Gabbi Plain will be returning home with her Washington Huskies Softball Team to play against the NSW Firestars on December 20 at the Blacktown International Sportspark.
In a first it will be the only time a Softball Team from the University of Washington has set foot on Australian Soil.
The Washington Huskies softball team represents the University of Washington in NCAA Division I college softball competition. A member of the Pac-12 Conference, they play their home games on-campus at Husky Softball Stadium in Seattle, Washington.
Plain is about to start her second year after an outstanding first year which saw the Huskies finish runners up in the Women’s College World Series to Florida State University and couldn’t be more excited about returning home.
“I am so excited to be coming home to play. I didn’t think it was a possibility to play with my college team back home so this is an amazing opportunity. I’m so excited to be able to play with the girls in front of my friends and family back home” Plain said prior to leaving for Australia.
Plain is a right handed pitcher who started her career at Softball Macarthur and was selected into the NSW U17 and U19 Teams then in the 2016 Australian U19 Team for the World Championship in the USA.
Game times are
vs NSW U19 Team 5:00pm and 7:00pm December 19
vs The NSW Firestars 5:00pm and 7:15pm on December 20
