Cumberland Nepean are the 2019 NSW U18 State Champions after a dominant display in the Grand Final against Hornsby.
The championship was played in 2 pool after the rounds Hornsby and North Shore came out on top in their respective pools waiting to see who they would play for a right to proceed into the grand final.
Penrith City had a tight 4 – 2 win over Manly Warringah and Cumberland Nepean had a convincing win over Macarthur 7 – 0 to move through to the next stage of the final series.
Cumberland Nepean came out firing in the 1st innings against piling on 3 runs and then were never challenged to move through to the final. Whilst Hornsby fought hard against Penrith City to win 5 – 1.
The final was close affair for the first 2 innings with the pitchers keeping the hitters at bay. Cumberland Nepean scored 1 in top of the 3rd then 3 in the 5th inning then another 5 in the top of the 6th to bring their tally to 9. Hornsby managed 1 run in the bottom of the 5th. Final score was 9 runs to 1.
