The NSW Open Men had a great win over WA 18-0 in the first game of the day 18-0. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 1st inning Liam O’Leary doubled to centrefield followed up by singles to Callum Beashel, James Darby and Lachlan Hay to put 5 runs on the board. 4 more runs in the bottom of the 2nd saw 4 more runs over the plate with a triple to Liam O’Leary, doubles to Aidan Kajan and Lachlan Hay and a single to Callum Beashel. The game was finished in the 3rd after the Blues scored another 9 runs in the bottom of the 3rd including Homeruns to Luke Ollerenshaw and Hayden Mathews
Game 2 was a different story to game one with the Qld Patriots putting pressure on NSW throughout the game with both teams managing 6 hits each for the game. The Patriots scored in the 1st, 6th and 7th innings whilst NSW scored in the 1st, 4th and 5th. Final score 5-4 in favour of NSW. Hits to James Darby, Mitchell Brownlow, Aidan Kajan, Lachlan Hay (triple), James Todhunter and Liam O’Leary. Rookie Shaun Lanaghan had a great game on the mound only giving up 5 hits in 6 innings with 7 K2s.
Due to the heat Tuesday has seen some game times change with NSW playing at 10:00am vs SA and 12:30pm vs Victoria.
Metro Orange had a draw against Qld Thunder 4 – 4. Metro Green lost to Qld Thunder 8-2. Country Gold lost to Qld Storm 12 – 9 but then bounced back to beat SA 26-11.
