5 new members of the Softball NSW Hall of Fame were announced at the State Teams Dinner on December 13 at Rooty Hill RSL.
Fiona Crawford (Hanes) – played for NSW between 1995 and 2007 in 12 National Championships. Fiona was a member of the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Team as well as being selected for the 1998 and 2002 World Championship Teams. Fiona was also a member of the 1995 Australian U19 Women’s Team. Fiona Captained the 1992 NSW U16 Team and also was Vice Captain (1993) and Captain (1994) of the NSW U19 Teams.
Kylie Herbert (Rustin) – played for NSW between 1985 and 1996 in a total of 9 Australian Championships. Kylie was a member of the 1986 and 1990 World Championship Teams. Kylie was a member of the 1983 NSW U16 Team before Captaining the team in 1984.
Belinda Ashworth (Turner) – played for NSW between 1985 and 1996 in a total of 10 Australian Championships. Belinda was a member of the 1990 World Championship Team. Belinda represented NSW U16s in 1984 and was Vice Captain.
Phil Savage – played for NSW between 1986 and 1998 in a total of 10 Australian Championships. Phil was a member of the first Australian Men’s Team to play in a World Championship in 1988.
Andrew Rindfleish – Andrew has umpired at Australian Championships since 1984 and has been appointed to 4 World Championships as an umpire, 1991 U19 Women, 1996 & 2000 Open Men and 2001 U19 Mens. Andrew is an integral part of the NSW umpiring fraternity and has been an outstanding ambassador over many years.
Fiona, Kylie, Belinda, Phil and Andrew were joined on stage and congratulated by other SNSW Hall of Fame Members that were in attendance on the night by Gaye Ledingham, Mel Roche and Peter Rainer.
