31 safe hits to our boys on Day 3

The hits were a plenty for our boys on Day 3 of the 2020 U18 Men’s National Championship at Blacktown International Sportspark amassing a total of 31 hits in just 8 innings in total.

In game 1 the Blues got off to a good start scoring 2 in the first with lead off Jeremy Garland putting one over and Tyler Kelly hitting a double. Zane Howarth led off in the 2nd with a home run which was the only run of the inning.

The bats went crazy in the 3rd with 4 Home Runs 1 each to Jeremy Garland, Hayden Shaw, Jack Davies and Tyler Kelly with a double to Jack Besgrove to add 6 runs to the total

If the 3rd was crazy then the 4th was even better with the team batting through the line up nearly twice with 12 runs coming across the plate with Hayden Shaw hitting 2 Home Runs and another to Ethan Field plus hits to Blake Becquet (2 Singles), Zane Howarth, Michael Owen and another to Ethan Field.

Hayden Shaw recorded 7 RBIs for the game with Klay Kilpatrick and Blake Hunter keeping it tight on the mound.

The boys started where they left off in game 2 of the day scoring 9 runs in the 1st innings with singles to Tyler Kelly, Ethan Field, Josh Banks, Blake Becquet, a double to Boston Lowe and a Home Run to Jeremy Garland. The 2nd innings started with back to back home runs to Boston Lowe and Josh Banks and was followed up with a double from Jeremy Garland and singles from Blake Becquet and Jake Gleeson.

The 3rd inning was something rare with the Blue Bloods not scoring a run, only the 4th time this has happened in the championship with only Boston Lowe recording a hit. The top of the 4th saw another 5 runs cross the plate with Jeremy Garland, Jake Gleeson and Ethan Field all hitting singles.

In the 6 games played the boys have racked up 84 runs with only 11 being scored against them.
