2020 Open Women’s State Championships Washed Out

2020 Open Women’s State Championships Washed Out

To our Valued Stakeholders, Coaches, Athletes & Umpires,

In light of the recent deluge of rain that has flooded the diamonds at the Softball Centre in Blacktown International Sportspark, and forecast rain for Sunday October 25, Softball NSW has made the very difficult decision in deeming the Open Women’s Championship a washout for the weekend of October 24 & 25.

In what has been an extremely tough year, both on and off the diamond for our community, we understand and appreciate the extensive efforts Affiliates, Coaches, Athletes and Umpires have undertaken to be prepared for this competition. Like all, we are very disappointed that the event is unable to proceed as scheduled. Our efforts are to always deliver a safe and high-quality experience, and, in these conditions, this is simply not achievable.

SNSW will now be reviewing opportunities internally to reschedule the event in the coming weeks. The SNSW Staff and Board will consider all options for the event to be rescheduled in the near future.

SNSW will provide an update to the community on Thursday 29th October.

Should you have any questions in relation to this please make contact via the details below;

Yours Sincerely

Daniel Rushworth
