As per advice provided on Thursday 29th October, SNSW is now providing an update for the 2020 Open Men’s State Championships scheduled for October 31 and November 1 at Blacktown International Sportspark.
SNSW today, conducted a venue inspection with Blacktown International Sportspark Ground Staff and can advise, that after significant rain for the past week, as of 12pm there is still water lying on Diamond 1 and Diamond 3 and with the added complication of forecast rain across the next three days the venue has been deemed not suitable for safe participation.
Forecast Blacktown International Sportspark
- Oct 30 70% chance of rain
- Oct 31 90% chance of rain (8-15mm)
- Nov 1 80% chance of rain (5-10mm)
With the forecast wet weather to an already saturated venue, Softball NSW has made the very difficult decision in deeming the Open Men’s Championship a washout for the weekend of October 31 & November 1st.
