Fully Loaded Slow Pitch High School Competition
Softball in the NSW School System is a sport with a deep and rich history; one which we are certainly proud of. The history is littered with gold medals, Olympians and historic moments of opportunity. We now have such an opportunity being offered to Years 7-10 Secondary School Students within the metropolitan area with our inaugural Softball NSW Schools Fully Loaded Slowpitch Championship.
This one day event on Wednesday 27th November is a version of our game primarily aimed at those who have never played before, so regular rules have been simplified to have more people engaged in the game, more often, in this fast paced and inclusive hybrid version of Softball.
There are two words there that may need further explanation in both Fully Loaded and Slow Pitch
- Fully Loaded is a shorter modified version of Softball. It has Loaded bases, three innings, shorter fences, 60-second changeover between innings, Fully Loaded Softball is all the best bits of the game wrapped up within 30 mins!
- SlowPitch is where the ball is underarm pitched in an arc opposed to a regular fastball. This means the ball can be easier to hit.
Now that the explanation of the basics of the event are out of the way-it gets better!
- The competition is mixed gender with teams of 12 students required.
- All equipment and officials are supplied by Softball NSW
The event will be held on Wednesday 27th of November at Blacktown International Sports Park, Eastern Road Rooty Hill (walking distance from Rooty Hill Railway Station). Entries will close on Wednesday 13th November.
There will be an entry fee of $30 per team (GST Inclusive) and we ask that it is limited to two teams per school. We are also offering a 1st prize of 4 free coaching sessions from one of our Development Team for the winning school. Please follow the Registration Link In order to register for the event, but please be quick as we have limited spaces available and they will fill up fast.
