Penrith City U17 Men’s Team has defended their State Title at the 2017 Championship held at Blacktown International Sportspark over the weekend.

7 teams entered into the championship and played each other in a round robin format. At the conclusion of the round robin Macarthur were undefeated with Penrith City only dropping their game to Macarthur to come in 2nd place. The 2 teams entered the final evenly matched with both teams looking to claim the title.

Penrith City managed to put a run on the board midway through the game but Macarthur replied with a run in the 6th innings forcing the game into a tiebreaker. Penrith City scored in the top of the innings and went into the bottom of the innings determined to hold out Macarthur. Some controlled pitching held the Macarthur bats at bay and took Penrith City to a win 2 – 1.
