The Boy’s Development League season saw 4 teams entered which was an increase on 2016 which was great to see.

During the season Macarthur and the Barbarians were the teams to beat and it wasn’t surprising these 2 teams made it through to the final. The Barbarians defeated Macarthur 7 – 4 to move straight through to the final. Southern Demons beat Blue Jays in the Minor Semi to earn the right to play Macarthur in the Preliminary Final but Macarthur proved too strong winning 20-0. The batting practice from the Preliminary Final gave Macarthur the edge in the Final with them proving to string in the box for the Barbarians 13 – 2.
